My Biography

With the exception of a year and a half, I am a lifetime resident of the Detroit Metropolitan Area. That year and a half, was spent in Bradenton Florida, beginning my family with my wife Pandora & daughter Audrey. We came back to Michigan to be close to family.

I am a former student of St. Augustine grade school in Detroit and a graduate of Warren Woods High School in Warren.

My calling seems to have been in the field of photography. I received my first camera on my 10th birthday. It was a Kodak Instamatic 44. I did have the opportunity to pursue photography in high school. Upon graduation I took on several jobs including Ponderosa, Little Caesers & Lobby Hobby camera store. Lobby Hobby was the first job I took that had anything to do with photography. It was there that I rediscovered my interest in photography. However, they went out of business. Next was a car salesman at Dick Huvaere's

Richmond Chrysler Plymouth Dodge Mitsubishi. From there I landed at Olan Mills. Thus beginning my 35 years as a photographer which also included CP Studios, Fox Portrait Studios, Bryn-Alan (in Florida) & then Fox Portrait Studios again. With the closure of Fox, it was time for me to begin a new venture

J. Arlington Photography.
